Accessibility statement
We build for medical practices, whose visitors are more likely to have visual, motor, hearing or cognitive impairments. Here is where this site stands, including what is still imperfect.
We build websites for medical practices, whose visitors are more likely than the general population to have visual, motor, hearing or cognitive impairments. Accessibility is not a compliance box for us — it is most of the audience. This statement covers ehrexpress.com itself.
The standard we work to
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is the level referenced by courts applying the Americans with Disabilities Act, and by HHS rulemaking under Section 504 and Section 1557 for organisations receiving federal healthcare funding.
What we have done on this site
- Colour contrast meets AA. Body text, secondary text, links and buttons are all at or above 4.5:1 against their background. We audited this and found four failures — secondary text at 2.93:1, the legal line at 1.95:1, and our own brand teal at 3.81:1 as both link text and button background. All were fixed on 29 August 2026.
- Keyboard operable throughout. Every link, control and disclosure works without a mouse, focus is always visible, and a skip link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
- Structured for screen readers. One
h1per page, headings in order with no skipped levels, landmark regions, and decorative icons hidden from assistive technology. - Readable at any size. Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320px, and scales with your browser's zoom and font settings.
- Reduced motion respected. If your system asks for reduced motion, animations and transitions are disabled.
- No accessibility overlay. We do not use one, and we advise clients against them — see Website accessibility for medical practices for why.
Known limitations
We would rather name these than imply the site is perfect:
- Some decorative background illustrations carry only a short text alternative. They convey atmosphere rather than information, and nothing depends on seeing them.
- We rely on Google Fonts. If those fail to load, the site falls back to your system fonts — readable, but not our intended spacing.
- Our support search needs JavaScript. Without it, the full guide listing is still browsable as ordinary links, organised by category.
- The billing portal is operated by Intuit. We do not control its accessibility; if you have difficulty with it, contact us and we will take your payment another way.
How we test
Automated checks catch roughly a third of real problems, so they are our floor and not our evidence. Alongside them we compute contrast ratios directly from our design tokens rather than eyeballing them, navigate the site by keyboard only, and check pages with a screen reader.
If something does not work for you
Please tell us — it is the fastest way for us to fix it, and we would genuinely rather know. Email info@ehrexpress.com with the page address and what went wrong. We aim to respond within one business day and to fix confirmed barriers within ten business days, or tell you honestly when it will take longer and what you can do meanwhile.
If you need information from this site in another format — large print, plain text, or read to you over the phone — ask and we will provide it at no charge.
